Lowick Heritage Group begins its new season of talks on Monday 8th September. Attached is the programme for 2025/2026 and thanks to the efforts of Helen Evans, Lynne Leary and Julia Graham we are able to present an eclectic mix of topics that we hope you will enjoy. All of our meetings are held in Lowick Village Hall with a normal start time of 7.30pm. As last year we’ll be taking a mid winter break, hopefully avoiding the worst of the weather.
Our constitution permits a seven strong committee and at the moment we’re one member down. Ideally we’d like to get back to full strength at the AGM that will precede the September meeting (with a slightly earlier start of 7.15pm). As some of you may know, Lowick Heritage Group has supported another member of our committee, John Daniels, in the successful publication of a beautifully illustrated hardback book called ‘Colour of Summer’ that’s about the butterfly populations of Lowick and the surrounding areas. The book marked the beginning of a further expansion of the Group’s interests into local natural history and conservation of both flora and fauna with the ultimate intent of publishing a second and more inclusive book. We appreciate that this is a very ambitious objective for our small group. If you have a special interest in local natural history then perhaps you could help us achieve it by joining our committee. Best Wishes to you all,
Paul
